Halloween

Halloween is a holiday celebrated annually on October 31st. Originally known as All Hallows’ Eve, Halloween is a time for dressing up in costumes, carving pumpkins, and participating in spooky activities.

The origins of Halloween can be traced back to the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, which marked the end of the harvest season and the beginning of winter. It was believed that on this night, the boundary between the worlds of the living and the dead was blurred, and ghosts could return to the earth. To ward off evil spirits, people would light bonfires and wear costumes to confuse the ghosts.

In modern times, Halloween has become a beloved holiday, celebrated by people of all ages. Children often go trick-or-treating, collecting candy from their neighbors, while adults may attend costume parties or haunted house events. Many people also decorate their homes and yards with spooky decorations and carve jack-o’-lanterns out of pumpkins.  Click here for some Halloween safety tips.
