The Nine Domains · Spiritual
Spiritual Fitness
Cultivating meaning, purpose, values, integrity, connection to something greater, and alignment between what you believe and how you live.
What this domain means
Spiritual fitness is not about arriving at one perfect answer. It is about becoming clearer about what grounds you, guides you, and gives your life direction.
Spiritual fitness helps you understand what matters, what gives your life meaning, and how you want to live. It provides a way to orient yourself when life becomes noisy, uncertain, or difficult.
For some people, that grounding comes from faith or religious belief. For others, it may come from family, service, community, nature, philosophy, personal values, or connection to something larger than themselves. The form may differ, but the function is similar: perspective, direction, and greater alignment between what you believe and how you live.

Four essential capacities
What does spiritual fitness include?
01
Values
Clarify the fundamental beliefs that help guide your behavior, priorities, and decisions.
02
Purpose
Recognize how meaning can show up in ordinary responsibilities, relationships, service, and choices.
03
Integrity
Bring what you value, what you say, and what you do into closer alignment across the roles you hold.
04
Perspective
Remember that your immediate experience is real, but it is not all that exists, especially when life feels narrow or overwhelming.

A useful reframe
Fitness does not require one path.
Spiritual fitness can include faith and religious practice, but it is not limited to them. It is the capacity to know what matters, draw strength from what grounds you, maintain perspective, and live with greater purpose and integrity.
Pause and take inventory
Where are you right now?
This is not a grade. It is a snapshot. Honest awareness gives you a useful place to begin.
- Which beliefs, values, relationships, or commitments help you decide what matters most?
- Where do your choices reflect those values, and where have they begun to drift apart?
- Where does purpose already show up in your ordinary life?
- What is one ordinary choice that could bring you closer to alignment this week?

Name what matters.
Pause and name one belief, value, relationship, or commitment that helps you decide what matters most right now.
This week · One choice
Find purpose in one ordinary task.
Choose one responsibility, interaction, or routine and ask, What makes this worth doing well? Connect the answer to a value you want to express.
Go deeper · Build a practice
Complete a values checkpoint.
Ask what you said mattered, what your recent choices showed, and what one ordinary action would bring those two things closer together.
